5or6 were recently asked to produce a booklet for Loughborough University Basketball. The booklet was for the upcoming open day at the University and was to show visitors and potential team members what the club was, about the level that the team played at and how to get involved.

Lightning strikes again for 2012

5or6 are working with Netball Superleague side Loughborough Lightning again this year. We have been working with the side to refresh their brand for the new season and produce some brand new design work for their matchday programmes. Their season starts on Saturday when they host Team Northumbria. They will be first to feature in the all new Lightning ‘Courtside’ programme that folds to an A5 programme with details of the teams, Liv and the next games, but when its opened up it becomes a player poster for fans to get signed.

Keep an eye out for more Lightning graphics throughout the season… good luck girls!

UK wide Personal Trainer franchise At Home Fitness promotional material released

At Home Fitness the UK based personal training franchise came to us and asked us to revamp their promotional booklet. The current booklet had all the relevant information yet lacked an edge to set them apart from the rest of the field.

At Home Fitness have franchises based all over the UK and are growing quickly due to their personal approach to who they train but the act they offer marketing and training material for all their franchisees, a stance no other personal trainer franchise currently takes.

We decided to look at their booklet from another angle and decided that the personal images and unique approach to their franchisees was their biggest asset and so designed the booklet to reflect this.

3 years and running – Charnwood Sports Awards 2011

Monday 5th December saw the 3rd annual Charnwood Sports Awards ceremony held in Loughborough and here at 5or6 we are proud to say that we have been involved since the beginning.

This year we produced branding, event publications and multimedia material for the event.

The awards are held annually to celebrate the wealth of sporting talent in the borough, with international athlete at current 5or6 client Nathan Woodward nominated for the Senior Sports Person of the Year award.

WOW Magazine still going strong!

This year 5or6 have been working with Loughborough Athletic Union to produce their monthly sports magazine ‘WOW’. It informs students on the goings on throughout the Athletic Union such as special achievements by particular athletes, big events coming up and interviews.

This is the 3rd year that 5or6 have been working on WOW magazine with their 43rd issue being the most recent to come out. We have had the pleasure of designing the artwork for articles about the Nike Academy, The Big Match and exclusives from up and coming Great Britain athletes.

We hope you look forward to seeing the next ‘Christmas’ edition.

Golf Kenya shines at the International Golf Travel Market 2011

The Golf Kenya delegation has recently returned from the World Travel Market and International Golf Travel Market (IGTM) which was held in Belek, Turkey. IGTM is the premier event for the golf travel industry where over 600 golf tourism suppliers join 350 pre-qualified buyers and 140 international press representatives for four days of pre-scheduled appointments, networking opportunities and industry updates.

Golf Kenya was represented by the Kenya Tourist Board, the Kenya Golf Marketing Alliance, Hemingways Expeditions, Private Safaris, Vipingo Ridge, Leisure Lodge Golf Resort and Heritage Hotels. Kenya’s Minister of Tourism – the Hon. Najib Balala – took time from his busy schedule to visit the Golf Kenya stand and officially launch ‘Golf in Kenya – the natural choice’, Kenya’s official golf destination guide.

Golf Kenya’s marketing initiative has received international attention: see Breaking Travel News, Golf 100 Magazine, Golf Blogger co.uk, The Travel Writer’s Lounge and World News.

Team GB star Nathan Woodward joins team 5or6

Team GB athletics star Nathan Woodward’s new website designed by 5or6 as part of our Athlete Web Design package has gone live.

Nathan bust on to the senior athletics scene last year after being a record setting junior athlete after breaking national records at under 17 level and u23 for the 400 meter hurdles after he narrowly missed out on a place in the World Championship final.

Nathan’s new website is part of our drive to increase the awareness of Team GB’s athletes in the run up to next year.

Nathan follows a long list of international sports stars linking up with 5or6 after World bronze medallist Andy Turner became the first athlete to join forces with 5or6 and our Athlete Web Design project, later followed by Spanish U19 international footballer Marcos Alonso.

We have also worked with recent Sport Personality of the Year nominee and World Champion Athletics star Mo Farah recently after the successful launch of his Mo Farah Foundation website.

New chocolate packaging launched!

5or6 teamed up with Chocolate Alchemy to design their brand new chocolate bar wrappers for their 100g and 45g bars. Chocolate Alchemy are run by Chocolatier Pete Gardner, Ricky Soos and GB athlete Lisa Dobriskey.

The bars consist of a gold foiled base with stickers designed for each of the ranges.

The ranges included a 45g for four origin bars from Java, Madagascar, Mexico and Ecuador, and also four filled bars: Eaton Mess, Hazlenut Praline, Peanut Butter and Marc de Champagne. 100g for the Ecuador and Java bars with two inclusion bars of Raspberry Infusion and Sea Salt & Cocoa Nib. The final bar designs were the three Belgian bars: Dark Chocolate, White Chocolate, and Milk Chocolate.

5or6 at the BBC East Midlands Sports Awards

5or6 Managing Directors Peter Simmons and Ryan McNamara were VIP guests at the BBC East Midlands Sports Personality of the Year Awards last night.

It was a fantastic event presented by Jon Inverdale which saw several high profile names with 5or6 clients Nathan Woodward and Lisa Dobrisky in the spotlight. Both Peter and Ryan had winners on their table with Martin Allen (Notts County Manager) recognised for his contribution to football and world record holding double-amputee marathon runner turned 200m sprinter Richard Whitehead recognised for his achievements as Disabled Sports Personality of the Year.

All in all it was a great night with England cricketer Graeme Swann beating competition from Stuart Broad and Rebecca Adlington to pick up the main award.

The Chocolate Alchemy packaging is given the green light

Over the past few months here at 5or6 we have been working very closely with Loughborough based chocolatiers, Chocolate Alchemy to help create their new chocolate bar packaging in the lead up to Christmas.

Chocolate Alchemy produce bespoke handmade chocolates and chocolate bars, sourcing the best ethical chocolate the world has to offer.

The new packaging will be debuting in the shop in the next few weeks, but it won’t be around for long if the shoppers of Loughborough have anything to do about it!
